The guide of stage B: From Beskydy to Hukvaldy
Our tour (connecting the trails A1, A2) starts in the municipality Kamenitá in front of the restaurant U Kohutky. From here we will set out in the direction to Raškovice. Raškovice
municipality spreads out on the left bank of the Morávka river. Local beautiful nature serves for recreation to people coming from industrial regions of Ostrava and Karviná. The south-eastern part of the municipality belongs to the protected landscape area of Beskydy, the haleness of the landscape is represented by memorial oak-trees which are situated near the municipal authority building. Both permanent citizens and visitors have at disposal the local cinema
(one of the oldest ones in the Frýdek-Místek region), then the local pub
and the restaurant U Fojtíků
, where a very good beer is brewed and draught. Raškovice offer many sporting opportunities - there are volleyball and tennis courts, a football field and a school gym. In summer you can refresh yourself in crystal clear mountain rivers such as the Morávka and the Mohelnice rivers. The surrounding nature even offers numerous interesting places for hiking.
From Raškovice we will continue further to the locality known as "The Bandit Ondráš birthplace". Janovice
municipality is situated in the picturesque foothills of the Moravian-silesian Beskydy mountains. Thanks to its geographical location between the industrial Ostrava region, Frýdek-Místek region and the Beskydy mountain range, Janovice can be called "The entrance to Beskydy". This locality provides a very good background for tourists, both through the boarding and accommodation facilities (Restaurant and Hotel Ondráš). From Janovice it is possible to follow the maintained routes leading to the highest peak of the Moravian-silesian Beskydy mountains - Lysá hora (1323 metres above the sea level).
And after we will continue to a small foothill village called Pržno
. It is situated in the picturesque valley of the Ostravice river with the view of the Lysá hora mountain. The dominating feature of the village is a church
which was sacrificed to Our Lady in 1910. You can refresh yourself in the restaurant U Adamce.
Crossing the Ostravice river, we will get to Baška - Hodoňovice. There is another restaurant U Čendy.
The tour continues further along the asphalt roads by the fields to Palkovice
municipality which consists of two parts ? Palkovice and Myslík. The character of Palkovice is created by the enclave of the Palkovice Hills (Palkovické Hůrky). The Olešná river flows through the valley. Beautiful surrounding nature as well as the proximity of the dam Olešná offer many sporting and tourist possibilities. There are also numerous boarding facilities in Palkovice. The pub U Kožicha, situated right under the local running track is in service all the year round. The running track is equiped with the evening lighting and artificial snowing in winter. On the Palkovice hills there is an accommodation possibility in the local mountain centre.
From Palkovice we must climb a bit to get to Myslík (part of Palkovice) and from here we will descend to Kozlovice. Kozlovice
municipality is situated in the Beskydy foothills on the way between the towns Frýdek-Místek and Frenštát pod Radhoštěm. It is a basin surrounded by hills and high peaks of the Beskydy mountains. The dominating feature is the massif of Ondřejníky mountains. The northern side of Kozlovice is bordered by Králová hora (King's mountain) and Myslíkovské Hůrky (Myslík hills). Not very far from here there is the Hukvaldy castle which can be seen from almost each place of the locality. In the centre of Kozlovice, in the vinicity of the Parish church of St. Michael, you can refresh yourself in the restaurant U Viléma. If you don't want to go further to the centre and you are hungry, there are other restaurants called Bebiko or Ve Dvoře.
Finally we are approaching to Hukvaldy
. There are beautiful surroundings of the ancient preserve on the way, which attracts visitors for both sight-seeing and relaxation mainly in spring, when chestnut trees blossom or in autumn, when the park is full of colourful fading leaves. The Hukvaldy location has so much to offer - the Hukvaldy ruine of castle
, the memorial of the world-known music composer Leoš Janáček
, in honour of who the Festival "Janáček's Hukvaldy" is held every year, then the picturesque centre of Hukvaldy with many typical restaurants such as Hukvaldský Dvůr, Restaurant U Námořníka or Restaurant Pod Hradem. And if you are really fascinated and want to stay overnight, you can be accommodated in Pension Hukvaldský Dvůr, Pension Pod Oborou or in the Pension Hutní montáže.
